Luxons have set up camp in North Kryta, and Kurzicks have a camp in Nebo. Are they here to take over Tyria, or will a war break out between them on Tyrian soil?

The plot thickens.

I believe those two quests have been removed. There were to make the area safe for the two factions. I would guess now that they are here the area is safe and the quests are no longer needed.

As far as I can tell ettin farming hasn't been affected by this latest update.

One of the NPCs from Kurzicks talks about pretty much genociding against the Luxon. I think either it will lead to new quests. Or a way of introducing Faction battles in Tyria?

I think they'd just add some A/Rt skills to the current quest givers for those with the class anyway. However, there are no A/Rt skills in Prophecies to begin with. :P

From bergen head north past the avicara, you remember where the statue of dwayna is? Its right around that. For the luxons, head to the North Kryta Province warp. You should be quite close to it from the kurzick settlement. Now just head south, you will know you're going the right way when you see a giant turtle.

Go north from Bergen Hot Springs. Kurzick camp is at the staute of Dwayna. Head east through the portal into North Kryta Province and turn south before you get to Ascalon settlement. Luxon camp is just down the road.

there is a character at each site who say they are determined to not let the otherside grow their influence in tyria.

What I want to know is ... have they started befriending the local Tengu?

I still have yet to mosey over there and check out those quests/areas, mainly because i'm capped on faction already, so doing the quest would net me nada. I suppose I'll wait until Factions is out so I can do something useful with them.

I don't know about befriending them, but the Tengu have moved south a bit and seem to stay further away from the statue of Dwayna then previously.

I don't remember seeing that collector (Wintun the Black) before .... at the Luxon camp. He has the energy +8, +15 -1 regen +30 health offhands for necro and mesmer.
